Voter Education and Candidate Engagement

The League of Women Voters of Northeast Tennessee provides opportunities for voters in our communities to hear directly from candidates through candidate engagement events during election years. We also offer educational resources to help voters understand the voting process and make their voices heard confidently.

VOTE411: Election Information and Voter Resources

VOTE411.org is the League of Women Voters’ one-stop online resource for election information. Voters can find information about polling locations, voter ID requirements, early voting, absentee voting, and more.

Voter Services and 2026 Election Dates

Important Dates for the November 3, 2026, Elections

Federal, State, and Municipal General Elections

Voter Registration Deadline: Monday, October 5, 2026

Early Voting: Wednesday, October 14 – Thursday, October 29, 2026

Absentee Ballot Request Deadline: Saturday, October 24, 2026. We strongly recommend requesting your absentee ballot well before the deadline.

Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026

Check Your Tennessee Voter Registration

Have you moved across town, to another county, or to another state? Make sure your voter registration is up to date before Election Day. You can use the state’s official voter services website to check your registration, find your polling location, review your districts, and access other voting information.

Visit GoVoteTN.gov to check your voter registration and prepare for Election Day.

Tennessee Voter Registration and Photo ID Requirements

  • Register in advance: You must be registered at least 30 days before an election to vote in that election. Register in time to participate in early voting.
  • Bring valid photo identification: Tennessee voters must present an accepted form of photo ID when voting in person. Review the official voter resources linked above for current requirements and exceptions.
  • Register through your county election commission: You can register by visiting your county election commission office. Search online for “[Your County] TN Election Commission,” replacing “[Your County]” with your county’s name.
